January 5, 2018 (Linyi China) -- The first snow of the 2018 hit Linyi City, east China’s Shandong Province on January 4.

Several counties of Linyi City have been hit by a blizzard since Wednesday night. For all nine counties of Linyi, seven saw heavy snow including Tancheng, Lanling, Linshu, Feixian, Pingyi, Yinan. Junan. In worst-hit Tancheng County, snow reached 0.82 cm, and snow in Lanling reached 0.65 cm.

Some primary and middle schools in Linyi City suspend classes on Monday.

In addition to Shandong Province, parts of Henan, Anhui, Hubei, Jiangsu, Shaanxi, and Shanxi can also expect up to 30 cm of snow, the National Meteorological Center said.

Meteorological authority of Linyi City has activated a level II emergency response for severe weather, urging local authorities to take precautions regarding roads, railways, electricity supply and telecommunications.
